Template Solution for the Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer

Note: This is for the Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer, NOT the Source SDK Base 2010!

You can get the latest version of the template here.

The Template solution is a pre-made solution setup for the Source 2013 Singleplayer branch for modding built off of the Skeleton Solution. Unlike the skeleton solution, the template has more defined code such as a complete Clientmode, Gamerules, Player code, and more. It's set up to be ready to have mods built upon it out of the box.

For instructions on how to install it, please visit this post.

Features

- Uses vpc scripts to make sure that all platforms with any supported compiler will compile the Template

- A player code with optional defines such as PLAYER_HEALTH_REGEN, PLAYER_MOUSEOVER_HINTS, PLAYER_IGNORE_FALLDAMAGE and PLAYER_DISABLE_THROWING.

- A FPS pickup system without weapon_physcannon code

- Out of the box ready for entities to have the glow effect.

- New dev textures, primitive shape models and an example map with source files.

- Comes with batches to launch tools, compile maps, models, and textures.

- Additional sounds, soundscripts, soundscapes.

Changelog

11/12/14

- Fixed compile_map batches from not working if there was a space in the path of the vmf.
- Added run_vpk_chunk.bat. This makes chunks of one vpk for bigger vpks.

10/22/14

- Renamed vbsp to vbsp_final. There is this odd bug making vbsp open in a new window, then running again in the prompt. So, only use this vbsp for final compiling for now....

10/19/14

- Removed "sprites" from the MaterialExclusion of the template_base.fgd
- Updated vbsp.
- Added the link for the blog instructions in Read.txt.

09/09/14

- Added changelog to the file.
- Added the base weapon system in by default along with the melee, pistol and shotgun example cpps. (SMG is not in due to base code)
- Updated weapon scripts.
- Set GLOWS_ENABLED in the preprocessor by default.
- Added a new Class CBaseGlowAnimating! This class makes it easier for items to glow without making a client side for multiple classes.

09/02/14

     - Initial Release.
